Your Government: Marion County Commissioner Considers Insurance Policy, Pipe Inspection Vehicles – Salem Reporter

The Marion County Commissioner’s Board met Wednesday to consider a deal with a Portland-based insurance agency and the purchase of a TV van to inspect East Salem storm drains.

The Commissioner will consider approving a $323,100 contract with Brown and Brown Northwest to provide insurance brokerage and consulting services to Marion County employee benefits for three years.

The Board will consider purchasing a $158,600 closed-circuit television pipe van from CUES, Inc. for visual inspection of over 82 miles of pipe in the East Salem Stormwater System.

They will also hear a presentation of color by veterans of foreign wars in Chapter 661 and a presentation about the county’s new web page, which includes services and activities for veterans and their families living in Marion County.

The Commissioner will consider approving a proclamation designating Marion County as Purple Heart County.

The Board will also consider appointing Rhett Martin as Compliance Officer for Privacy, Security and Complaints and Legal Officer for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability for the Marion County Department of Health and Human Services.
