To receive an emergency prescription refill, a TRICARE beneficiary must bring their prescription bottle to any TRICARE retail network pharmacy. If the bottle is not available or the label is damaged or missing, the beneficiary should contact her Express Scripts or retail network pharmacy for assistance.

If possible, go to the pharmacy where the prescription was filled. A prescription filled at a retail chain may be filled at another store within that chain. Beneficiaries can call any network pharmacy for a new prescription if the provider is available.

As a reminder, TRICARE beneficiaries who are not active service members may obtain emergency care from any TRICARE authorized emergency care center or provider and no referral is required. This allows beneficiaries to seek non-urgent care for illness or injury when their primary care provider is unavailable due to an emergency.
