Subsidized loans continue for low-income earners

Since the beginning of the calendar year in late March, banks and financial institutions have provided 1,080 trillion rials ($3.22 billion) in loans to low-income earners. This aims to encourage marriage and childbearing among young people and to assist citizens who want to rent a home.
Mostafa Kamari Vafa, head of public affairs at the Central Bank of Iran, said the bank had sold 478,000 maternity loans worth 192 trillion rials ($573 million) in the past seven months, according to newswires. He said he had received the application.
Lenders were required in mid-April to lend to young parents to encourage childbirth.
