Know the process of buying a home

MANISTEE — Buying a home can be a daunting task for first-time buyers.

Habitat for Humanity of Manistee County has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Michigan to help Manistee County residents be “mortgage ready.”

The Mortgage Ready Program takes potential buyers by hand and walks them through the process from start to finish.

“Until we are ready to buy, we can remove barriers,” reads part of the news release.

The seminar will be held on November 8th at 1:00pm and 5:30pm at the West Shore Community College Manistee Downtown Education Center at 400 River Street in Manistee. Registration is free.

The Habitat Mortgage Ready Program is designed to help individuals and families be financially prepared to apply for a mortgage and increase their chances of being approved.

Manistee County Habitat for Humanity Board Chair Randy Zakrysek said: “Buying a home is an exciting time, but the financial responsibility of taking out a mortgage may be out of reach at first.”
